This place is a really good place to come and try real Mexican food. As Mexican I tried the Enchiladas Rojo Mole with no expectations but they really surprised me with the taste and the presentation of the dishes. The drinks are amazing too, I fully recommend the Ambar de Cardamomo and the Mora Azul Real 7. Beautiful place, good music. I’m definitely coming back. 🫶🏼
This place is absolutely a gem of a restaurant in down town Denton. The menu is riddled with unique items not found on most tex mex menus. The short rib enchiladas with red sauce are phenomenal. Their classic margarita with sugar on the rim was a perfect finishing touch to an unforgettable meal. We will definitely be back.
Went for dinner on a Saturday, was greeted & seated promptly, the decor inside was pretty and our waitress let us know we made it before happy hour was over so I tried a few of the cocktails they had in the menu and was very surprised in how they were all delicious. We enjoyed the smokey salsa and bean dip and had the guacamole, I love how they added spinach & pickled onions 😊The food was even better I had the tuna bowl and was very flavorful, we also had the steak shrimp fajita combo and the portion was very generous and delicious, the only one item I think they can improve on is the rice they serve it had no flavor at all unfortunately. Will most definitely be back since we had a great time and lovely food and drinks.
Best happy hour price deals in Denton… and every single day, not just weekdays. Which is unheard of. The prices are reasonable (not cheap, but thats not the kind of restaurant this is) but high freshness and quality every time weve come. Honestly LOVE the salsa and queso here. Delicious fresh margs (esp happy hour pricing!). And we love eating the Chimichanga with queso sauce, the Oak Bowls, and the tacos are good too. Ive tried many things on the menu and havent had anything that was less than good, and a few things that I mentioned were really great. Freshness is what makes this restaurant stand apart. This is our new go-to happy hour spot (if I didn’t already make that clear by now).
This restaurant on the corner of the square in Denton offers a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere and good food. We had not been here before but were in the area and decided to drop in. It was midafternoon, but the lunch menu was still in effect, although it was not given to us by the hostess. Our server suggested it and he ws right to do so because the prices are much better. My wife and I each ended up doing a three taco/enchilada plate combo for $14.00. Not huge tacos or enchiladas, but good size for the price. My choices were cheese enchilada (good), chicken enchilada (really packed full of excellent shredded chicken with an outstanding sauce, and shrimp taco (by far the highlight, full of flavor and plenty of shrimp). My wife selected shirt rib enchilada (excellent flavor and lean meat), shrimp taco, and chicken taco (the same well-seasoned shredded chicken as my enchilada). Both meals came with rice and beans. We also had a side of queso which was good but not special. I thought the chips that came with the meal along with the salsa were very high quality. They also came with an outstanding warm mole that really stood out. In the world of Tex-Mex everything was above average from ambiance, décor, service and food. I also had a Union Bear Mexican Lager (bottled but poured into a chilled glass, and my wife had a Frida Cuvee, a very nice drink from the menu. Would not make it a planned trip into Denton downtown to visit Mexican Oak, but would certainly go back if plans to be in the area and in the mood for Tex-Mex.
